Anna Spataro
June 19, 1937 — August 7, 2017
Anna Yvonne Spataro, 80, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017, at the Frostburg Village Nursing Care Center.
Born on June 19, 1937, in Lonaconing, MD, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Warnick and Margaret Anna (Robertson) Stakem and her stepfather, Patrick J. Stakem.
She was also preceded in death by two special grandsons, Todd and Nicholas Garlitz and grandparents David D. and Anna K. (Morton) Robertson.
Anna was a 1955 graduate from Valley High School and of Catherman’s Business School. Following graduation, she worked for the Celanese Corporation and the S. Schwab Company. She was a member of the Valley High School Alumni Association.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Lou Spataro, Frostburg; daughter Kelly Lynn (Spataro) Garlitz and husband Bernie and their son Ryan and wife Maggie, Frostburg; son Christopher Lon Spataro and wife Lorrie and their son Logan, Hyndman.
Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave, Frostburg, MD, on Thursday, August 10, 2017, from 6-7 pm. A memorial service will be held at 7 pm with Pastor James Glass officiating.
In accordance with her wishes, Anna will be cremated and she will be inurned with her grandparents and aunt in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lonaconing.
