Betty Blair

Betty J. Blair, 95, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018, at the Frostburg Village Nursing Home.

Born on May 30, 1923, she was the daughter of the late G. Robert and Marguerite (Elrick) Glotfelty.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Thomas S. Blair in January of 2007.

Mrs. Blair was a life-long member of St. Paul’s Lutheran church in Frostburg and was a member of their choir for 79 years.  She retired from the staff of Frostburg State University in 1985 where she was supervisor of data processing.

Surviving are one son, Robert Blair and wife Maria, Edmond, OK; one daughter, Jill Hanson and husband James Hanson, Durham, NC; grandsons, Steven Blair, Tyler Hanson and Travis Hanson; granddaughter, Celeste West and husband Aaron; great-granddaughters, Nia West and Reagan West; sister Joann Martin, Frostburg; nephews, Mike Martin and Steven Martin; and niece Pam Martin.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at 1 pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 34 W. Main Street, Frostburg, MD, with Rev. Rick Schoenly officiating. Family and friends will be received at the church from noon to 1 pm.

Inurnment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
