It is with heavy hearts that the Middleton family announce the passing of wife, sister and aunt.

Betty Louise Harden was born in Frostburg to Floyd Middleton and Vera Dailey on February 11, 1930. Betty was the last remaining member of her immediate family.

She was pre deceased by her sisters and brothers Ray, Lawrence, Ritchie, Mary, Inez and Mae as well as her husband James Harden. Betty was very proud to have graduated 1948 from Beall High School and kept in touch with classmates through her life.

She started her professional career at G. C. Murphy Company Frostburg and progressed in her 45 years as a dedicated office employee earning her way to Office Manager. When Murphys closed, she continued employment at Aimes Department Store and The Historic Railway Euporium.

A social person all her life, Betty worked civically with the Farrady American Legion Unit 24, Women of the Moose # 221, and Fraternal Order of the Eagles 1273 Ladies' Auxiliary. Never one to sit idly, after her husband Jim's passing, Betty enjoyed many friendships at the Frostburg Heights and Egle Retirement Home.

Betty cherished her life-long relationships with special nieces and nephews Nancy Hunter, Patty Whittier, Elizabeth Ann Kallmeyer, and Larry Middleton and countless others.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to the professional staff of Egle Retirement Facility for their support. Betty also found priceless dedication for many years from Cassie and Jeff Hunter.

Betty will find her resting place with the help of Durst Funeral Home at the Frostburg Memorial Park. Per her request, there will be a private family grave-side service.
