Betty (Brenneman) Kroll, 71, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2020, at home, surrounded by her loving family, after a brief illness.
Born on March 12, 1949, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Helena (Stark) Brenneman, of Grantsville.
Betty was a graduate of Northern Garrett High School. She had previously worked as a teller at Garrett National Bank and then as a bookkeeper for her husband’s former business, Glass Service of Cumberland. She was an active member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Corriganville, where she served as organist, church treasurer, and president of the Ladies’ Aid.
Betty was a great cook and loved to prepare meals for her family. She was known for her beautiful needlework. She was a member of a card club, loved playing Scrabble and doing jigsaw puzzles. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Betty is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Joe Kroll; one son, Scott Sisler and wife Renae, Ellerslie; two daughters, Shanna Ritter and husband Jason, Frostburg, and Wendy Kroll and Kerry Merrbach, LaVale; two stepdaughters, Annette Staggs and husband Benjie, Frostburg, and Pam Geiger and husband Gary, Ridgeley, WV, and eight grandchildren: Shelby and Emily Herbert, Lexi and Haley Geiger, Tyler and Collin Sisler, and Evan and Alec Ritter. She is also survived by two sisters, Marilyn B. Adam, and Rae Ann Smith and husband, Jeff, all of Cumberland, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held for the immediate family at the former St. John’s United Church of Christ, Corriganville, with the Rev. Dr. Tomislav Dosch officiating.
Interment will be at Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Tyler and Collin Sisler, Gary Geiger, Benjie Staggs, Jason Ritter, and Kerry Merrbach.
