Betty Ann (Thomas) Prichard, 84, formerly of Frostburg, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2015, in Warren, OH, after having a brief battle with cancer.

Born July 11, 1931, in Frostburg, to the late Richard and Myrtle (Lohr) Thomas.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, William B. Prichard; a grandmother who raised her, Marion Thomas; three aunts, Ann, Margaret and Marian Thomas. Betty Ann was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Betty was involved in the family businesses - Prichard’s Hardware and Crestmont Clothing store, Frostburg.  She was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church, Frostburg, and the Maplehurst Country Club.  Mrs. Prichard graduated from Beall High School in 1949 and attended Frostburg State Teacher’s College.  Betty lived the majority of her life in Frostburg until 2013, when she moved to Warren, OH, and made her home with her daughter Carol and husband Chick Haering.  She enjoyed knitting, word search puzzles, reading, playing bridge, but most off all spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Before her husband passed in 1999, Betty and William enjoyed traveling, golfing and spending time at their second home, the Innisbrook Resort, in Flordia.

She is survived by her four daughters, Karen (Jim) Barnes, Frostburg, Susan (Marty) Nadenichesk, Warren, OH, Linda (Bob) Brodell, Madison, MS, Carol (Chick) Haering, Warren, OH; thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Friends and family will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave, Frostburg, MD 21532, on Saturday, October 24, 2015 from 1 to 2 pm.

A memorial service will follow visitation at 2 pm with Rev. Penny Pitts officiating.

A private family interment will be held in Frostburg Memorial Park.
