Cherie DeHaven

Cherie (McKenzie) DeHaven, 83, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at Mt. City Rehab.

Born on November 11, 1942 to the late Pauline (Long) and Reford McKenzie. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, James E. DeHaven, her brothers Ronnie McKenzie, Butch McKenzie, Terry McKenzie, her sisters Faye King and Debbie Stafford, and her daughter Shelley DeHaven.

Surviving are two sons, James E. DeHaven Jr. and wife Cassie DeHaven, and Scott Alan DeHaven and wife Rebecca DeHaven; daughter, Shannon DeHaven, grandchildren, Melissa Romesburg, Tonya Der, Jordan Rhoads, Madison Wilson, Kylye Basham, Gavin DeHaven, Haden DeHaven, Kayte Schrecengost, Jasmine Clark, Danika Printy, Jackson Printy and Gia DeHaven; 7 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; sister Gayle Kenney.

Cherie was a homemaker and loved bingo and her grandchildren. She supported all of them during their sports and dance and was always so proud of each of them. She loved hunting with her sons and fishing at camp. Cherie was a social lite and loved to attend many social gatherings. She will be missed by so many. Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD on Monday, December 22, 2025 from 10 A.M to 12. Memorial service will follow at noon with Celebrant Peg Marshall Officiating.

 Inurnment will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

 Celebration of life to follow at Barrellville Outdoor Club.
