Elizabeth Powell

Elizabeth Carol Powell, 69, of Mt. Savage passed away at home on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.

Born on April 23, 1956 to the late Elsie (Johnson) and Robert Carder Jr. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her siblings, Gary Carder, Robert Carder, John Carder, Virginia Kennell, Sue Kennell and Paulette Brotenmarkle.

Elizabeth worked at Friends Aware as the Residential Councilor and retired from bartending at the VFW Post 6025, Mt. Savage VFW and Kennell's Mill Outdoor Club.

Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Ronald Powell; daughter, Jennifer; grandsons, Brandon and wife Gabby, Carder, Dekota, Alyx; grand pup, Oakley Marie. She also leaves behind her sister, Margaret Smith; former son in law, Chris Mason as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD on Monday, December 29, 2025 from 11 A.M to 1:00 P.M. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 with Rev. Barry Winters Officiating. After the services are concluded a small gathering will be held at the Mt. Savage VFD15701 Iron Rail Street, Mt. Savage, MD.

Interment will be in Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery.

Pallbearers are, Matthew Wolfe, Brian Robison, Jason Robison, Chad Robison, Nathaniel Snyder and Dylan Snyder. Honorary pall bears are her grandsons, Brandon Powell, Carder Miller, Dekota Mason, Alyx Mason and former son in law, Chris Mason.
