Esther Lee Wirth

Esther (Lee) Wirth (Everett), age 88, of Dundalk, MD, passed away on July 19, 2026, at her new home in Frostburg, MD.

Born in Harrington, DE on September 19, 1937, she is the daughter of the late Lewis (Slim) and Martha Derrickson (Legates) of Harrington, DE.

Esther is survived by her sister, Barbara Lane (Derrickson); children, Gina and Angelo Palumbo; grandchildren, Crystal, Chris, and Damien (Joe) Palumbo, Ashley Herrera, Sarah Sawdargs; great-grand children, Jenio and Cristo Willison, Cassandra White, and Ava Blaker; and countless others of all ages that she took under her wing and into her heart as her own.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Thelma Butler, Lewis Everett (Dickie), Paul H. Everett (Herby), Josephine Parsons, Thomasena Golden, and Thomas Derrickson (Tucky); their children whom she loved dearly; her husband, Bob Wirth; Eugene Palumbo; and her children, Scott, Tony, Gene, and Michelle Palumbo (Cupp).

Lee attended Farmington High School and later settled into Baltimore where she had a family. Over the years, she worked as a waitress, barmaid, and house cleaner as she supported her 5 children. She later moved to Georgia to build a life with her husband, Bob, then returned to Baltimore after he passed to be near her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed good laughs, time with friends and family, and was a blessing to anyone who knew her. She loved all children that were brought near her, and took in anyone that needed help. She will be missed as the Matriarch of her family, and a true light in this world.
