E. Susan Orndorff
68, passed away on August 26, 2017, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV.
Born on May 4, 1949, in Cumberland, to the late Joseph E. and Virginia (Anderson) James. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Diane James.
Mrs. Orndorff was a graduate of Beall High School and the Maryland Medical Secretarial School. She worked for the U.S. Army at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Department of Child Psychology and Neurology. She also was with Braddock Medical Group, Dr. Gary Wagoner M.D., and Livingood Insurance.
Susan was a member of Frostburg United Methodist Church, University UMC, College Park and LaVale UMC were she assisted in the office, treasury, trustees, parish staff and other duties. She was an avid sponsor of 4-H and a life member of the Maryland 4-H All-Stars and the 4-H Scholarship committee.
Susan was known as an excellent baker and cook, much to the delight of her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother and friend and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her husband, William E. “Bill” Orndorff; daughters, Lauren Schubert, Kara Heathcote and husband Alex; son, William J. “Billy” Orndorff; brother, Joseph A. James and wife Peggy; and nephew Eric B. James.
Susie was cremated in accordance with her wishes.
Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD, on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, from 5 to 8 pm.
Funeral services will be held at LaVale United Methodist Church, on Thursday August 31, 2017 at 11 am with Rev. Frankie Revell officiating.
Inurnment will Frostburg Memorial Park.
