Gail Ann Miller, age 64, died peacefully surrounded by her husband, on August 10, 2025, in their Frostburg, MD home after an extensive and valiant battle with cancer.
Gail was born on December 28th, 1960, in Mt. Savage, Maryland to the late Kenneth Lee Ritchey Sr., and her mother Pauline Ritchey. She graduated from Mt. Savage High School and was most recently employed by the Motor Vehicle Administration. Gail was married to George Miller, her adoring husband who stood by her side in true sickness and health.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her sister; Cynthia Westwood; her nephew; Michael Westwood; and her nieces: Kiona Davis and Shaynah Westwood.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her three children and their spouses: Jessica Ritchey; Adam Ritchey and wife Shauna; and Matthew Dick and wife Melissa; four grandchildren; Selena Rendon, Camren Ritchey, Carson Ritchey and fiancé Shian Custer, Victor Estrada, Riley Ritchey and significant other Jaden Rosales and Saylor Ritchey; two great-grandchildren, Waylon Jax Ritchey and Navy Grace Rosales who is due to arrive in December. Additionally, she is survived by her siblings Kenneth Lee Ritchey Jr. and wife Lorrie, Michael Ritchey and wife Carmil, Sharron Ritchey and Dana Davis and husband Aron; as well many cousins, nieces and nephews and life-long friends Mindy Lease Thoerig, Laura Kahl Richards and Cyndee Hatter.
Gail leaves behind so much more than the people who knew and loved her. Gail's legacy will live on as a woman who fought courageously and tirelessly to the end against cancer with a smile on her face while meanwhile maintaining an unwavering ability to make those around her smile and laugh. Her determination and inspiring attitude were steadfast with her until the very end.
Gail enjoyed spending time laughing with her friends, cooking, attending concerts, many beach trips and soaking up as much time with her family as she could. She persisted until the very end to meet her first great-grandson and shortly thereafter learning she would have a great-granddaughter arriving as well. She was a favorite among every group she was a part of. Anyone who met Gail had their own special bond with her as you knew you had a loyal and faithful sister/aunt/friend in her. Gail was a gem who personified strength, spirit and grace especially in the last few years of her life. We are all so lucky that she has left an imprint on all of us during her time here.
Moving forward, as we all carry a piece of her with us, please do this one thing, feel for lumps, save your bumps!
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for all who have offering support, love, prayers and the outpouring of love during this incredibly difficult time.
A viewing will be held at Durst Funeral Home on August 15, 2025, from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. Gail's family invites everyone to join them immediately following the viewing at City Place 14 S Water St., Frostburg for refreshments and to remember Gail.
