Gary F. Blank

67, of Wellersburg, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017 at the University of Maryland Medical Hospital.

Born on January 14, 1950 in Cumberland, to Raymond D. and Dorothy E. (Blank) Blank. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dale E. Blank and sisters, Diane DeHaven and Evelyn Stott; brother-in-law, Gerald Middleton and two nephews.

Gary was retired from Local 616 Labor Union of Cumberland and was previously employed by Braddock Construction and Sanner Brothers Coal Company. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, farmer and enjoyed hunting mushrooms. His favorite season was Spring enjoying all its new life, especially the red bud trees.

Surviving are his sisters, Joan Sager and husband Joe, Hyndman and Norma Middleton, Frostburg; brothers, Leslie Blank and wife LaVerne, Hyndman, Dwayne Blank and wife Barbara, Wellersburg and David Blank and wife Renee, Eckhart; 13 nieces and nephews and friend Mary Louise Oster.

Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.

Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 11 am with Rev. Ken Korns officiating.

Interment will be in Hyndman Cemetery.

The family would like to express their "gratitude and much thanks" to sister, Norma for the special care she gave Gary throughout his battle with Leukemia and to Leslie for driving him to and from appointments and treatments in Morgantown and Baltimore. He had so much will to live and fought so hard. Rest in Peace Gary……We Love You.
