George William Patterson, 74, of Frostburg, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, July 23, 2023, after a four and half-year battle with Glioblastoma Brain Cancer.
Born on August 23, 1948, to the late James and Eleanor "Tiny" Patterson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded by his siblings, Carolyn Miller and James "Bruz" Patterson. He was also preceded in death by Harry Fatkin who was like a father to him.
Mr. Patterson was a committed Christian and had previously attended Trinity Assembly of God in Midlothian. He read his bible daily, loved the Lord and was ready to meet Him. George was always talkative, never met a stranger and would do anything for you. He met a special friend while he was in the nursing home, Darrell Glass who was a prayer warrior who prayed for him every day when he came to visit his wife.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Jane "Janie" Patterson; children, Eric Patterson and wife Selena, Susan Booth and husband Dirk; grandchildren, Aaron Patterson, Abbey Patterson and finance Ryan Einzel; great grandchildren, Lilly, Lucy and Grant; sister, LaVonne Clise and husband Jim; sister-in-law, Kathy Forman and husband Dave; sister-in-law Ceil Patterson; numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly; many friends and his cat, Maggie.
Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD on Friday, July 28, 2023 from 6 to 8 pm and Saturday July 29, 2023 from 2-3 pm.
Memorial service will be held at Durst Funeral Home on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 3 pm with Rev. Jim Jeffries officiating.
Inurnment will be held privately.
