Helen Casteel

Helen T. Casteel, 90, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at Allegany Health Nursing and Rehab Center.

Born on January 24, 1930, in Uniontown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Mizerak) Swartz.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Casteel.

Helen was a homemaker and loved walking, gardening and being outside. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Frostburg.

Surviving are daughter, Cindy Stott and husband, Ted; son, Chuck Casteel; grandchildren, Miranda Barber and husband Scott; Jessica Casteel, Lease and significant other Brent Northcraft, Ryan Stott and Charles Logan Casteel and significant other Mary Buskirk; great-grandchildren, Ellie Barber and Nora Barber; siblings, Margaret McClain, George Swartz and wife Phyllis and Michael Swartz and wife Tootsie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave, Frostburg, MD, on Monday, June 15, 2020, from 9-11 am.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am with Rev. Karen Crosby officiating.

Interment will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap.
