James Rodger Bohn

February 2, 1943 — April 8, 2026

James "Jim" Rodger Bohn, 83, of Mount Savage, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. He was born on February 2, 1943, in Cumberland, Maryland, a beloved son of the late Donald Bohn and Arlene Shrout Bohn.

Jim was a longtime member of the Mount Savage Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus. Not only dedicated but enjoyed working for the telephone company as a splicer for 36 years. He found great joy in hunting, fishing, and spending time tinkering around the house-working on projects and building things with his hands. Even after retirement, he continued to tend a small farm on his one-acre lot and cherished traveling across the United States with his wife, Judy.

Known for his warm and friendly nature, Jim never met a stranger. He was an all-around great guy whose kind heart and easy smile earned the love and respect of everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Judy Geary Bohn; his children, David Bohn, Gary Bohn, Rodney Bohn and his significant other Barbara; his grandchildren, Travis Bohn, Austin Bohn, Addison Bohn, Jaren Bohn, Brenna Bohn, Isaiah Bohn, Braden Bohn, and Levi Bohn; his great-grandchildren, Leeum and another boy on the way; and his siblings, Barbara Schroyer and her husband Denny, and John Bohn and his wife Louise.

In accordance with his wishes, Jim was cremated. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at New Germany State Park, Tall Oaks Pavilion. Pastor Berry Winters of Mountainside Ministries will be holding a service at 11:30am.

May his memory bring comfort and smiles to all who loved him.
