James Layman

James Michael Layman, 68, of Frostburg, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.

Born on June 8, 1947, in Lonaconing, he was the son of the late Paul L. and Eva Marie (Doyle) Layman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nikki Zanders.

Mr. Layman was retired as a manager from Flash Towing Company.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in Viet Nam.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Ellen (Dearborn) Layman; children, Teresa Cox, Portsmith, WV, James Layman, Jr, Frostburg, Eric Layman, Pikesville, MD; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, George Layman; and sister, Patricia Peoples.

James was cremated in accordance with his wishes.

A memorial service will be held at his residence at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Durst Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses.
