John “Jack” Earl Parker, 81, passed away on July 8, 2021, at UMPC Western Maryland Hospital.
Born on June 27, 1940, to the late John F. and Margaret (Neilson) Parker.
Jack graduated from Beall High School in 1959. He then served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. After his time in the military, he spent 30 years with Boys’ Forestry Camps. He was also a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church. Jack enjoyed sports all his life. He excelled in numerous sports at Beall High School and played basketball for the Air Force in Europe. His golfing buddies from Maplehurst, Rocky Gap and Myrtle Beach were a special part of his life. Most of all, his biggest pleasures in life came from his grandchildren. They loved spending time and playing with their Pop Pop. His quick wit and mischievous grin will be missed by all.
Surviving are his wife, Sarah Parker; daughter, Sarah Parker McConnell and husband Matt; grandchildren, Addalyne Taylor and John Parker McConnell; brother, Thomas Dale Parker; brothers-in-law, Carl Kelle and Randy Butler; niece, Debi Parsi and family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather to his wife, daughter, grandchildren, and son-in-law.
Family and friends will be received Monday, July 12, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD. A Funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM with Rev. Karen Crosby officiating.
Jack will be cremated in accordance with his wishes.
