John Henry “Jack” Robeson, 89, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at Mountain City Center in Frostburg.
Born on February 10, 1931, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Ellis and Olive (Fike) Robeson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Elsie Mae (O’Neal) Robeson; infant son, David, and siblings James Robeson, Anna Ruth Winfield, Bob Robeson and Don Robeson.
Jack was a member of Zihlman United Methodist Church.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in the Korean War. Following his discharge from the military, he was employed at the Kelly Springfield Tire company where he worked as a machinist. He enjoyed sports, fishing and cold beer with his buddies.
Jack was a great husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving are sons, John Raymond Robeson and wife Michelle, Hagerstown, and Kenneth Robeson and wife Brenda, Finzel; grandchildren, Mandy Sue Carder, Finzel, and David Robeson, Finzel; sisters, Ina Lee Donius and Rosemary Grimes; brothers, Joe Robeson and Dick Robeson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at Mount Zion Methodist Cemetery, Rt. 40 West of Frostburg, on Friday, May 1, 2020 at 11 AM with Rev. George Harpold officiating.
