John Stevens

John R. Stevens , 88, of LaVale, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013 at WMHS Regional Medical Center.
Born October 10, 1924 in Gilmore to Roy Steven and Elizabeth Lynch; he is preceded in death by his parents; wife Evaray (O’Neal) Stevens, and a brother, Francis Stevens.
Mr. Stevens was a retired supervisor from Kaiser Refactories; a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, he was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, a life member of V.F.W., and a fourth degree member of Knights of Columbus, Mt. Savage.
Surviving is his daughter, Marsha Manske and husband James, of Freeport, Ill; five grandchildren, John Birmingham and wife Stephanie, Davis Ill., Melissa Williams, St. Louis, MI, James Manske II, Freeport, Michelle Manske, Freeport and Scott Manske, Freeport; seven great grandchildren, Lauren Birmingham, Luke Strawhacker, Evan Strawhacker, Brandon Williams, Brianna Williams, Drew Manske and Olivia Manske; three sisters-in-law, Maxine O’Neal, Rawlings; Peggy Sween and husband Neil, Frostburg, and Dottie Smith and husband John, Mt. Savage.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 10 am.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
