Larry Snyder

July 30, 1953 — June 11, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Larry Thomas "Bucky" Snyder - a devoted husband, beloved father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and a pillar of the Mt. Savage community.

Born on July 30, 1953, to Allan and Ida Mae Snyder, Larry lived a life rooted in family, faith, and service. On June 11, 2025, he passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones.

For 48 beautiful years, he shared an enduring marriage with his loving wife, Roxann (Parry) Snyder. Together, they built a life filled with love and strength, centered around their son, Robert (wife Amber), and extending to their cherished grandchildren: Megan Robazetti (boyfriend Steven DeValle), Dylan Snyder, Nathaniel Snyder (fiancée Paige Wilt), and Albree Rose. He was also blessed with a great-granddaughter, Lauren, who brought endless joy to his days.

He is also survived by his daughter, Trissa Myers (husband Steve), and their family.

Larry was a proud graduate of Mt. Savage High School, Class of 1971. He dedicated over fifty years to the Mt. Savage Volunteer Fire Department, serving faithfully as a firefighter, captain, and EMT. His unwavering commitment to protecting and serving his community will never be forgotten.

He worked hard throughout his life, including 7 years at the Mt. Savage Brickyard and 37 years with the Maryland State Highway Administration. His dedication to his work was matched only by his devotion to those he loved. A man of great heart and faith, he attended Mt. Savage Mountainside Ministries in Mount Savage. He found joy in traveling with Atlantic Edge dive shop, peaceful camping trips, and, above all, spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was also a proud "dog dad and pap" to his beloved pups: Peanut, Teddy, Ozzy, and his cat, Harlow.

He is preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Elise Parry; brother, Gary Snyder; sister, Linda Yates; nephew, Jerred Lowery; and other dear family members. Larry is survived by his brother, Allan (Peggy) Snyder of Frostburg; sisters, Karen Snyder of Lonaconing and Sherry Snyder of Mt. Savage; sister-in-law, Susan Lowery (Alan); brother-in-law, Tom Parry (Brenda); and father-in-law, Thomas Parry, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends.

Larry's presence was a blessing to everyone who knew him. His legacy of service, love, and strength will live on through all the lives he touched.

The family wishes to thank the UPMC Hospice staff and the Schwab Family Cancer Center. We are also deeply grateful to everyone who supported us over the past few weeks, whether by cooking meals, visiting, or simply being there. A special thank you to Candace, Cindy, Barb, Josh, and Kelsey for your tireless care, love, and countless hours of support.

Though he may be gone from our sight, he will forever remain in our hearts.

Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg on Monday, June 16, 2025 from 6 to 8 pm.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at 10:00 am with Pastor Barry Winters officiating.
