Margaret Ann Kenney

Margaret ‘Margie’ (Garlitz) Kenney, 82, of Frostburg, went to be with the Lord and joyfully joined her husband and family as she passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Allegany Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cumberland, MD.

Born on March 22, 1943, to the late Flossie (McKenzie) and Esco Garlitz, they lived on Beall School Road in Garrett County. In addition to her parents, Margaret is preceded in death by her loving husband, James ‘Mike’ Kenney, and cherished son, Michael David Kenney, plus her brothers Dale, Wayne, and Blayne Garlitz.

Surviving are Margaret’s three daughters, Susan Kenney, Cheryl Skidmore, and her husband, Hugh; Diane Mazer and her husband, Rick; grandchildren Jamie McGreevy and husband Nathan Youngblood, Jeffery McKenzie and wife Kirstie, Eric Raley and wife Elizabeth, Brandi Alkire and husband Bobby; Jessica Skidmore; and Tara Ritter and husband Aaron. Margie was blessed with nine great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life: Alex, Brayden, Fiona, Levi, Jackson, Emmy, Irelyn, Everly, and Brenley.

Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave, Frostburg, MD on Monday, December 22, starting at 3:00 pm, with service at 4:00 pm.

Special thanks to Roxanne Haupt, Margie’s friend, who shared special time and always brought smiles, and thanks to the support of the neighborhood community on Centennial Street.
