Margaret E. Mulligan

Margaret E. “Betty” Mulligan, 94, passed away on November 2, 2022, at Peace Healthcare at Mountain City Center.

Born on September 3, 1928, to the late Lillian V. (Michaels) and William L. Blank Sr. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Carl V. (Brownie) Mulligan and siblings, infant sister, Rosemary Blank and brother, William L. Blank Jr.

Betty was a member of Our Lady of the Mountains, St. Patrick’s Church of Mt. Savage and the Sodality. She enjoyed gardening and watching her tomato plants grow in the summer. She was a devoted wife and mother.

Surviving are one daughter, Annette Mulligan of Mt. Savage; sister, Julia Burford of Lavale; sister-in-law, Barbara Blank of Cumberland as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and Friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD on Sunday, November 6, 2022, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

A Funeral Mass will be held at our Lady of the Mountains, St. Patrick’s Church, 15706 St. Patrick’s Church Rd, Mount Savage, MD 21545 on Monday, November 7, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. with Fr. Doug Kenney as Celebrant.

Internment will be in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Mt. Savage, MD.

Pallbearers will be Harold Taylor, Zane Taylor, Pat Mulligan, Daniel Blank, Brandon Blank and Austin Blank.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Fr. Eric Gauchat, OFM Cap Hospital Chaplain for his kindness and compassion and to Dr. Edwards, Dr. Lamm, Connie Morris CRNP, Patty Stafford CRNP, Jamie Gera PA and Danielle Glotfelty PA. Also to the dedicated and supportive staff at Mountain City Center who were her caring angels over the last four years.
