Marjorie Kay Meese

Marjorie Kay (Fritz) Meese, 85, of Frostburg passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026.

Born on May 23, 1940, she was daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Stewart L. Fritz. Also preceding her in death are her first husband Russell Leroy Williams, June 19, 1961 and second husband James Owen Meese, November 28, 2004; a brother, Phillip Fritz, July 19, 2019; sister in law, Diane Reffner.

Margie attended Berlin Brothersvalley School class of 1958 where she was a varsity cheerleader. She was a well-liked lady and known very well in the area who had friends around Frostburg and Berlin, PA. She was a hard worker while living on a farm for most of her life, in Garrett County, always cooking and canning. She was passionate about collecting dolls, thrifting, baking, sewing and interior decorating. She wrote many articles of poetry for the Citizen Newspaper in the 1960's and 70's. She also had a lifelong love of dogs; rescuing, caring for and loving many throughout her lifetime.

Surviving are her sons, Daniel J. Meese and wife Lisa Marie, Michael L. Williams and wife Anna J. (Shriver); step granddaughter, Amanda Morgan; grandson, Daniel R. Meese; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Wilma Spiker, Rick and Virginia McKenzie, Jeanie and Donnie Stanton, Gladys Lashbaugh and Dottie Troutman.

Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD on Friday, March 6, 2026 from 6 to 9 P.M. and again on Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 10 to 11 A.M. A funeral service talk by Jeffrey Alderton will follow at 11:00.

Interment will be in Berlin Brothersvalley IOOF Cemetery. Committal service will be given by Mike Cochran.
