Mark William King, age 37, passed away on August 5, 2026, in Cumberland, Maryland. Born on July 31, 1989, he was the beloved son of the late Karen Vogtman King and Robert Howard King.
Mark is survived by his brothers, Mike King (Michelle), and Bob King (Chris); his sisters, Karen Deffinbaugh, and Elaine Kaye (Richard); and his aunt, Carol Vogtman Gerson. Mark lived with his loving caregiver, Sierra Lane, and her son, Keegan, who were an important part of his daily life. Mark brought joy to the people who knew and loved him.
Mark attended Romney School for the Deaf and later received a Certificate of Completion from Beall High School, Frostburg, Maryland. For many years, he attended Friends Aware. He found happiness in activities he loved most, especially dances and bowling with friends, participating in Special Olympics, walking along the canal, visiting Ready, Set, Play, and spending time anywhere he could find a swing set, including Constitution Park.
Mark will be remembered with love for the happiness he brought to his family and the people who cared for him.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at Durst Funeral Home in Frostburg, Maryland, at 10 AM with the funeral service beginning at noon.
In honor of Mark, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Friends Aware, 601 Holland Street, Cumberland, Maryland.
