In Loving Memory of Marvin Ragsdale
July 1956 – October 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Marvin Ragsdale, who departed this life in October 2026 in Glen Burnie, Maryland, at the age of 70.
Born in Stayton, Oregon, Marvin learned the value of hard work early in life. As a young boy, he cleaned fish from charter boats in Newport alongside his cousin Tommy. After his family moved to North Carolina, he worked in tobacco barns.
While attending school, Marvin worked at Hardee’s before proudly serving his country in the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1979 and continued working hard to provide for his family. In early 2000, he began a career with NEC and later became a valued member of the Amtrak team.
Marvin was preceded in death by his loving parents, Lenthel and Wilma Ragsdale; his siblings, Harvey and Susan; and his cousin Tommy.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Krista Martin Ragsdale; his daughter, Jackie Graves; his stepdaughters, Tiffany Holmes and Amanda Unger; his siblings, Kathy Casey and her husband Jim, Patty Jones and her husband Jay, Carl Ragsdale, and Sam Ragsdale; his 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
Marvin was a kind, gentle, and loving man whose presence brought warmth and comfort to everyone fortunate enough to know him. He had a quiet strength, a generous heart, and a gentle spirit. He believed in hard work, family, loyalty, and treating others with kindness. He was always there with a smile, an encouraging word, and unforgettable hugs that will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
For those of us who have been blessed to have Marvin in our lives for so many years, he was far more than family by marriage. He became a treasured part of our lives, our memories, and our hearts. Although his passing leaves an emptiness that words cannot fill, the love he gave and the memories he created will remain with us forever.
A celebration of life will be announced in the near future.
