Mary Christine Sheats, 86 of Frostburg, formally of Annapolis passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026 at UMPC Western MD Hospital.
Born on August 10, 1939 in Pennsylvania to the late Nicolena (Mancuso) and Michael Angelo Collura. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by husband, Phillip Sheats Sr; children, two unborn, Daniel Michael Bernard Sheats, Philip Francis Sheats Jr.; sister, Frances Theresa Billera and her only friend who stuck by her side, Patti DeFransesco.
Mary was the Valedictorian of her Nursing class at Villanova University and went on to become a geriatric Nurse. She was very active in organizations such as; AAUW (American Association of University Women), Chesapeake Bay Foundation, American Kidney Foundation, Woman for Parliamentary in Annapolis and an advocate for Alzheimer's.
She was an established author, poet, and loved to play the piano as well as write her own music. A true Artist with love for family so much that she sponsored a family overseas.
Surviving are her children, Francis William Hennessey Sheats, Christine Mary Theresa Sheats-Zoellner and husband Eric, Carol Elizabeth Ruby Sheats, Kathleen Maria Hennessey Sheats-Taylor and husband William Hunter Sr.; grandchildren, Danielle Francesca Sheats, John Elliot Zoellner, Bradley Philip Zoellner, Michael William Sosebee and ex-husband Dylan Sosebee; brother, Michael Angelo Collura; sister, Theresa Anne Sapienza; extended family, Cheryl Ann Twigg; fur babies, Gucci Colors Sosebee, Boo Theresa Sosebee, Ming Sheats, Kim Sheats as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary was cremated in accordance with her wishes.
Memorial service will be held at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 2:00 with Fr. Ed Hendricks Officiating.
