Mary Louise (Layman) Winfield
78, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014 at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Born July 10, 1935 in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late William C. Layman and Lydia A. (Meese) Layman. She was preceded in death by two brothers; William C. Layman, Jr. and Sam Layman, both of Frostburg.
She was a graduate of Beall High School, class of 1953; a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and Sunday School class at Frostburg and a member of the Farrady Post #24 American Legion Auxiliary.
Mary Louise is survived by her husband, James L. Winfield of 57 years; two daughters, Denise L. Skidmore and husband Keith, Hagerstown, MD, and Alicia R. Maffley, Frostburg; two sons, Derick J. Winfield and his wife Kate, Frostburg, and Wendell K. Winfield and his wife, Barbara, Bel Air, MD. Also surviving is a brother, Darrell L. Layman and wife Mary, Keedysville, MD; three sisters, LaVerne Geis, Frostburg, Doris Taccino and husband Frank, Frostburg, and Anita K. Ahalt and husband James, Pawleys Island, SC; a sister-in-law, Martha Jenkins and husband Frank, Clarysville. She leaves behind seven grandchildren, Matthew Skidmore, Middletown, VA, Jacob Skidmore, Hagerstown, Lydia and Lena Maffley; Audrey and Isaac Winfield all of Frostburg, and Kevin Winfield, Bel Air, MD; and numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins.
