Maxine Brodie

Maxine Irene Robertson Brodie, passed from her mortal life surrounded by her dear family on September 17, 2020.

Maxine was born on May 18, 1941, to Melvin J. Robertson and Irene Naomi Loar Robertson. Maxine grew up in Vale Summit with her brother John M. Robertson and her sister Ruth Ann Robertson Wilson.  An avid athlete, Maxine graduated from Beall High School in 1960 and was voted most athletic girl.  She was a life long supporter of Mountaineer and Miner athletics and enjoyed spirited cheering and ringing her cow bell when family and friends competed.

Maxine worked at the Frostburg Nursing Home / Heights for 23 years retiring in 2003.  For the past two decades she has been a regular contributor to many quilting and crocheting projects at the Frostburg Senior Center the Frostburg Heights.

Her lasting legacy is the family she raised with her husband of 59 years, Creade V. Brodie Sr.  Together they have four children, twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother John and brother Bud, who died as an infant. She is survived by her husband her children Shon P. Brodie and wife Theresa Moure Brodie, Creade V. Brodie Jr. and wife Catrina Whitacre Brodie, Tonna Brodie Ferree and husband John M. Ferree, Krista Brodie Phillips and husband J.D. Phillips; her sister, Ruth Ann Robertson Wilson; her grand children Creade III, Shonna, Corrie, Braxten, Shyler, Andy, Shane, Seth, Hannah, Caleb, Austin, and Leah; great grandchildren, nieces a nephew and countless intimate friends.

The family plans to celebrate Maxine’s life in a private ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, donations canbe made to the Frostburg Senior Center Activities in honor of Maxine.
