Michael Thomas Neilson

Michael Thomas Neilson, 52, of Frostburg, MD passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026 at his home surrounded by family.

He is preceded in death by his father, Bill Simons; two sisters, Rachel and Morgan; grandmother, Pearl and grandfather, Harold.

Michael worked as a bus driver for Allegany County and was a crane operator for ABC Supply Company until 2020 when his TBI occurred. Above all Michael loved working with children every year as he played Santa Clause at the Country Club Mall and on the Western MD Scenic Train.

He was a lifetime member of the Shaft Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Cumberland Masonic Lodge Potomac 100.

Surviving are his mother, Tommie Simons; wife, Krista Neilson; sons, Keith and Timothy Neilson; daughters, Terilyn (Kevin) Barnes and Kylee; special in laws, Terri and David Kitis; brother in laws, Dwayne (Amanda) Kitis and Michael Kitis; his pride and joy grandsons, Kenneth and Michael Hall; several; aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces; along with pets, Maggie ,Pucky, Sadie, Cookie and Buttons.

Family and friends will be received at Mountainside Ministries, 15714 St Patrick's Church Rd, Mt. Savage, MD 21545 on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 11:00 with Rev. Barry Winters.
