Paul Skidmore

Paul Harold Skidmore, 92, of Frostburg, passed away Monday, September 24, 2018 at WMHS Regional Medical Center.

Born October 5, 1925 in Borden Mines to Marshall Skidmore, past Mayor of Frostburg and Catherine (Johns) Skidmore, who was proud to have christened a U.S. Navy ship. He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Edith Sullivan.

Mr. Skidmore was very proud to be a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran serving as a Radio Operator. He was a retired Research Chemist from ABL.  Paul was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and Farrady Post American Legion #24. His hobbies included the love of tinkering with puzzles, games and cars. He was a helper to all and a great listener. Paul was a great journal writer keeping his thoughts and events on paper every day since his early years. Above all that he has accomplished he loved his family.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Ruth E. (Ritchie) Skidmore; daughter, Cathy O’Neill and husband Greg; grandson, Christopher O’Neill and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Durst Funeral Home P.A., 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 1:00 pm with Chris Skidmore officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Greg O’Neill, Christopher O’Neill, Dean Ritchie, Scott Ritchie, Denise Ritchie and Dayne Lancaster.
