Rose Anne Miller, 76, of Zihlman passed away peacefully at the home she built and loved surrounded by family on Sunday, January 18, 2026.

Born on March 22, 1949 she is the daughter of the late Rose Mary (Byrnes) and Oscar L. Crowe. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brothers, Bernard Crowe and Bobby Crowe and her half-sister Inez Kress. Also preceding her in death was her beloved dog, Sadie Mae, who was her closest companion for the last 15 years.

Rose Anne retired from the U.S. Postal Service serving 28 years as a mail clerk spending several years as the friendly face of the bulk mail room in Cumberland, MD. She was always known and respected as an incredibly hard worker.

She was a member of the Allegany United Methodist Church in Zihlman as well as the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Ladies’ Auxiliary #2883, Fraternal Order of the Elks Ladies’ Auxiliary #470 and the American Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary #24.

For those who knew Rose Anne, they knew her to be a funny and fiercely determined woman who was often competitive particularly while playing Setback and sometimes Texas Hold’em with her local cards friends.And, she was an active attendee of her Beall High School graduate class of 1967 monthly luncheons. Spring flowers, summer months and sitting on her porch were a few of her favorite things.

Surviving are her only child Melissa Fike and husband Greg of Atlanta, GA, siblings Edward Crowe ofFrostburg and half-sister Eveyln Hardman of Cumberland in addition to many nieces and nephews: Tina Llewellyn (Bill) of Hagerstown, MD, Jason Crowe (Kate) of Philadelphia, PA, Tracey Crowe, Eddie Crowe(Laurie) of Frostburg, Kevin Crowe (Abby) of Chambersburg, PA, Christina Crowe (Randy) and Jennifer Crowe both of Frostburg.

The family would like to extend a special note of gratitude to the nurses, physicians and staff in the ICU and CVU Units at UMPC Cumberland in addition to the UPMC Hospice team who all demonstrated absolute care and compassion.

Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD on Friday,January 23, 2026 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM. A brief funeral service and celebration of life will follow at 6:00 with Celebrant Peg Marshall officiating.
