Shirley Watkins

Shirley L. Watkins (Kear) of Frostburg passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Sterling Health Care.

Born on April 8, 1930 in Frostburg, MD. She was the daughter of the late William A. and Margaret (Thomas) Kear

Shirley graduated with the class of 48 and worked at the Acme Market, Drug Fair and Super Fresh.

She was preceded in death by her husband William J. Watkins in 2002 and her sister Elaine Blubaugh.

She was a member of the Eckhart Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.

She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Stevenson and husband Rick, Sue Crowe and husband Gary; two grandchildren, Cody Sivic (Keisha) and Jenna Sivic (Blake); great grandchildren, Easton and Sawyer Shillingburg, Hank and Reagan Sivic; four bonus grandchildren and five bonus great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg on Saturday, June 14, 20252 from 12 noon to 1:00. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 with Rev. George Harpold officiating. A live recording of the funeral will be available on durstfuneralhome.com.

She will be laid to rest in Eckhart Cemetery.
