Susanne Shaw Rennie Schaller , 81, of Midland, Maryland, passed away on February 18, 2020, peacefully at the Sterling Care Nursing Home, Frostburg, Maryland, with her daughters by her side.
Born on April 28, 1938, in Lonaconing, Maryland, she was the daughter of Les Shaw and Anna Shaw Rankin. She is preceded in death by her infant son.
Susanne was a 1956 graduate of Valley High School, Lonaconing and resided in Midland. She spent her early working years in Washington, DC and retired from Kelly Springfield Tire Company, Cumberland, Maryland after many years of service as a payroll clerk.
In her younger years, with a deep love for fashion, she modeled in fashion shows for Cumberland-area businesses and meticulously planned her outfits whenever heading out the door. She volunteered for the hospice program at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland.
She is survived by her former husband Richard Rennie of Fort Ashby, West Virginia, two sisters, Norma Gaunt and husband Bill of Millville, Delaware and Leta and Denny Hopwood of Cumberland, brother Jim Rankin and wife Linda of Colorado Springs, Colorado; three daughters, Debbie Lohr and husband Bob of Palm Harbor, Florida, Alexia Garlitz and husband Kevin of Finzel, Maryland and Denise Morgan and husband Phil of Maugansville, Maryland; seven grandchildren, Richard, Christopher and Charlie Cornelius, Briana Sisler and husband Corey, Stephen Fazenbaker and wife Jennifer, Sean Fazenbaker and Stephanie Fazenbaker, and four great-grandchildren; Abbey, Brayden, Liam and Ellie.
Susanne’s family is grateful for the wonderful care provided to her from all of the staff at Sterling Care Nursing Home and special friend who was her caregiver, Wilma Cutter of Klondike, Maryland.
At her request, Susanne was cremated.
A private service will be held for family and friends. A celebration of life will follow at a later date.
