Virgil Frost, Jr.

April 6, 1953 — April 18, 2017

Virgil John Frost, Jr., 64, known to everyone as “Jack”, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at his home.

Born on April 6, 1953, he was the son of the late Virgil John Frost and Cora Elizabeth (Aldridge) Frost.

Jack was a 1971 graduate of Beall High School.  He was retired from PPG of Pittsburgh.  He had previously been employed at Mt. Storm Power Plant and Billy Bender.

Jack was a long-time member of the Shaft Volunteer Fire Department, Big Savage Sportsman’s Club and Piney Mountain Sportsman’s Club.  He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and grandkids.

Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Vivian “Ann” Frost; three sons, Michael Frost and wife Stephanie, Douglas Frost and wife Courtney and Stephen and fiancé Jolissa Lewis; grandchildren, Kelton Snyder, Cheyenne Frost, Makayla Frost, Logan Frost, Austin Frost, Lane Frost, Gavin Frost, Kaiden Frost and Elissa and Kasey Logsdon, Sadie Tindel-Smith and husband Brandon; sister, Paula Reed and husband Dennis; brothers, Terry Frost and wife Tammy and Jay Frost and wife Nancy; and numerous nieces and nephews. .

Jack never met a stranger.  He always had a joke to tell and a smile to share.  His presence brightened any room and his jolly laugh was contagious.  He enjoyed attending the local high school football games and the many sporting events of his grandkids, He will be greatly missed by all that he knew.

Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD on Friday, April 21, 2017, from 2-4 and 7-9 and Saturday, April 22, 2017, from 12-2 pm

Funeral Service will follow at 2 pm Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Jim Jeffries officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made directly to the funeral home to help offset funeral costs.  A gofundme account has also been set up under “Jack Frost Funeral Expenses”.
