Zane Baker

Zane Morris Baker, 76, of Mount Savage, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at Western MD Regional Medical Center.

Born January 13, 1942 in Meyersdale, PA to the late Ray Baker and Sarah V. (Robinson) Baker. He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Wayne Whetstone and niece, Doreen Fogle.

Mr. Baker was retired from Allegany County School system; he was a member of Kemp Lodge #154, Mt. Savage; and Piney Mountain Hunting Club.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Shirley (Twigg) Baker; daughter, Melissa Leavitt and husband, Allen, Cumberland; sons, Wayne Baker and wife, Sandy (McKenzie) Folk, Zihlman; and Gary Baker and wife Jennifer, Mt. Savage; 15 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, David Baker and wife Carol, Ohio; three sisters, twin, Sharon Georg, PA; and twin, Karon Freyta, S.C.; and Angela Grooms, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, MD, on Monday, April 16, 2018 from 4 to 7 pm.

Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at noon with Rev. Jim Jeffries officiating.

Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
