Barbara Frankenberry

March 26, 1962 — January 18, 2021

Barbara Ann (Breighner) Frankenberry, 58, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 at UPMC Western Maryland Hospital.

Born on March 26, 1962 in Cumberland, MD. She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Barbara (Robertson) Markle and her In-laws Mike and Annabelle Frankenberry.

Barbara was a graduate of Fort Hill Highschool class of 1980 and worked as an office administrator for Dr. Menchavez Pediatrics for 15 years. She was a member of Barrelville Outdoor Club, Midland Sportsman Club and Kennels Mill Sportsman Club. She was a lifelong member of St. Patrick’s Church in Mount Savage where she attended mass weekly. She also enjoyed playing cards with friends at Mt. Savage VFW and Blanks Tavern.

Her greatest joys in life were her family and spending time with her grandchildren, as well as shopping with her daughters and granddaughters. More than anything she enjoyed her six beautiful and handsome grandchildren, whom she loved tremendously with all of her heart. From the first one who named her “Nanny”, to the strong and quiet boys, and her “Nanny’s Girls”, they were her greatest gift and most treasured accomplishment. Her legacy will live on in their hearts and actions.

Surviving are her husband of 28 years, James “Jim” Frankenberry; daughter, Tiffany Machnic and husband Evan and their children Payton, Camden, and Evie; daughter, Megan Lynn Poland and husband Jesse and their child Penny; son, Ryan Frankenberry and wife Toni and their children Emmett and Hallie; sister, Donna Gross and special friends of whom there are too many to list.

A very special thank you to her daughter-in-law Toni who selflessly and courageously donated The gift of continued life to Barbara so she could spend more time with her family and to whom Barbara stated “Just remember you’ll always be my daughter.”

Due to Covid, the family will be holding private services with Father Doug Kenney, as celebrant. A memorial service will be held at a later date for all to attend.

Special thank you for the loving care from The Johns Hopkins liver transplant team that treated her like family and never gave up on her.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Johns Hopkins Comprehensive Transplant Center at 550 North Broadway, Suite 725, Baltimore, MD 21205 in honor of Barbara. https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/transplant/about/charitable_giving.html
