Donald Sines

December 16, 1942 — February 3, 2022

Donald Phillip Sines, 79 of Rawlings, passed peacefully the morning of February 3rd 2022.

Born December 16, 1942, in his family home within the beautiful forest of Savage River, he was the son of the late Virgil Sines and Hilda Sines (Broadwater). He was predeceased by his sister Alma Kroll.

Donald graduated from Bruce High School in 1960 and began his career in logging when he was 14 working with his family. He continued his career at the Celanese Corporation then transitioned to a job in quality control at the Chattanooga Glass Plant in Keyser, WV. Next, his career took him to the Biederlack of America Corporation. Lastly, Don became a truck driver working for multiple trucking companies.

In his youth, Donald was an avid hunter and fisherman; he loved being in nature. He traveled to different parts of the country for his job and often told stories of the cities he visited. Additionally, Don had a passion for classic cars and racing.

Don is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy L. Sines (Riggleman) and his dearly cherished canine companion, Nugget. He could most commonly be found walking or driving his dog throughout the Rawlings neighborhood, greeting neighbors, and searching for golf balls.

Donald is also survived by his daughter, Teresa Graham and husband Bart; daughter Diana McKenzie and husband Brian; and daughter Tammy Frankenberry and husband Dan. Grandchildren, Mandi Nicol (husband Andrew), Katie Morral (husband Justin), Ryan McKenzie, Meagan McKenzie, Keshia Miller, Kristen Cary (husband Ben), and Daniel Frankenberry. He also leaves behind 13 beloved great-grandchildren.

Furthermore, Don is survived by his cherished brothers and sisters. His identical twin brother, Ronald Sines (wife Lavona), sister Hazel Goff, (late husband Wayne), sister Hollis Wilt, (late husband Ellis), sister Freda Labbe, (late husband Renee-Don) and numerous brother and sister in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.

In closing, Donald was a dedicated church member throughout his life attending: Broadwater Chapel, Danville Church of the Brethren and most recently New Day Church in Cresaptown, MD.

Don was cremated in accordance with is wishes.
