Leannah Williams

Leannah Mae (Martens) Williams “Nonie”, 81, of Frostburg, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Peace Health at Lions Center.

Born on September 14, 1940 to the late Eleanor and Franklin Martens.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, James Dale Williams Sr. (10/14/2021) and brother-in-law, Joe Robeson.

Surviving are her children and best friends, James D. Williams, Jr.; Kimberly “Kimmy” Williams Truly and husband Michael “Mike”; her grandchildren who were the light of her life, Sean M. Truly, Amanda M. Truly and the apple of her eyes her great granddaughter, Aylannah D. Parrish; sister, Lorraine Robeson; niece, Kathy Robeson; nephew, Keith Robeson and Aunt Nancy Martens.

Leannah graduated from the Beall High School class of 1958 and went onto Martinsburg Nursing School where she received her RN. She worked as a nurse at Old Sacred Heart and Sacred Heart Hospital and eventually went on to work at HRDC in the corporation extension office. Outside of work she was a very active member who held many leadership roles in the Frostburg American Legion Auxiliary, Eagles and the Elks. She is also a lifelong member of the Salem United Church of Christ.

Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Avenue, Frostburg, MD on Monday, May 16, 2022 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M.

A memorial service will be performed by the American Legion Farrady Post #24 Ladies Auxiliary at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 16.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 11 A.M. with Rev. Diane Smith officiating.

Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.

The family would like to thank the nurses, CNA’s and staff at Peace Health at Lions Center for all their loving care overt the last few month. We appreciate each one of you.
