Mary Fike

June 1, 1941 — September 18, 2020

Mary M. Fike, 79, of Frostburg, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2020, at Mountain City Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing.

Born on June 1, 1941, in Frostburg, to the late Anthony and Verna (Raley) McKenzie.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her sister, Beverly Purghbaugh, brother, Wayne McKenzie, and nephew, Keith Buckalew.

Mary was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at Finzel Fire Hall, PTA at Route 40 Elementary School, Den Mother for Finzel Cub Scouts, and a member of the bowling league for Miners Hospital. She loved ceramics, crafts, painting, and planting flowers. She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends. Mary worked the majority of her life as a nursing assistant. She loved being around her grandkids and great grandkids.

Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Lewis Fike; daughter, Dawn Hillegas and husband Terry; son Brain Fike and wife Becky; son, Mark Fike and wife Dorrie; daughters, Suzie Lindeman and fiancé, John Yutzy, Nina Fike and boyfriend, Josh Pritts; grandchildren, Anthony Hillegas and wife Megan, Russel and Mariah Hillegas, Brandon Fike and wife Allysia and Brett Fike and wife, Trish, Markiee Nugent and husband, James and Ethan Fike, Veronica Warnick and husband, Richard and McKenzie Lindeman; great grandchildren, Gracie, Dalton, Hemi, Lexi, Creed, Leo, and Evelyn; brothers, Richard McKenzie and wife Marsha, David McKenzie and wife Sherry; sisters, Regina McKenzie, Sally Scott and husband Bob; and numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

Friends and family will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave, Frostburg, MD 21532 on Monday, September 21 2020 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.

Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at 11:00 am with Rev. Rob Culler officiating.

Interment will be in Finzel Cemetery.

The family wants to thank the staff at Mountain City for the special care they gave to Mary.
