Virginia Lee Jenkins Myers, longtime Prince Georges’ County school teacher, precious mother and loving friend to all people and pets, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 1:48 am. Virginia was born in Frostburg, Maryland on July 6, 1931 and was the only child of the late Richard Glotfelty Jenkins and Helen Virginia Ritz Jenkins. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Russell Myers, in 2012. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents Edward S. and Leora Glotfelty Jenkins, James Edward and Agnes Booth Ritz, with whom she lived during her childhood years, attending school at Bethel Township in Warfordsburg, Pennsylvania. She later attended Lifepoint Church in Seneca, SC where she lived with her daughter and son in law, the last year of her life.

Virginia Lee loved Jesus, her family and the USA. She really enjoyed spending time with her family at home or on vacations to the Outer Banks and North Myrtle Beach. Much of her time was spent reading, sinking her hands into the soil of her flower gardens and traveling. She also relished volunteering her time helping others with reading and learning new skills. She was an avid sports fan, cheering on her favorite teams, the Maryland Terrapins, the Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens!

She is survived by her two sons, Eric Myers and wife Lisa of Crofton, MD, and Alan Myers of New Market, MD; daughter, Mary Jo “Jody” Cross and her husband Tim of Seneca, SC; three grandsons, Brett Myers, Blake Myers and Zachary Cross and his wife Grayson Cross; two granddaughters, Emma Cross, Zoe Virginia Cross; one great granddaughter, Zaniah Lee Myers; sister in law, Eleanor Myers Gay; nephews, Randy, Michael, Matthew (Kristy) Gay and family members, James (Deidi) Ritz, Nancy (Denny) Mayo, Nancy (Michael) Gorman, James (Stacey) Carter, Ruth Ritz Seiders, Charlotte Burns and all of their children.
