William Pratt Sr.

William R. Pratt Sr., 84, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Goodwill Mennonite Nursing Home.

Born on February 9, 1937 in Mt. Savage to the late Ursula E. Pratt. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn F. (Snyder) Pratt and sister, Verna M. Hott.

William was owner and operator of Bills Market in Mt. Savage. He is also a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Mt. Savage, in 2003 he was presented the “Medal of Honor” by Archdiocese of Baltimore for his service to the church. Knights of Columbus Conncil 1058 and was a past Grand Knight, Mt. Savage Volunteer Fire Dept., and the Moose Lodge #448 in Frostburg.

Surviving are four children, William Richard Pratt Jr. and wife Melanie of Eckhart, Brenda Lee Gomer of Mt. Savage, Joyce Ann Warne and husband Steve of Pocahontas, PA, and John David Pratt and wife Christy of Mt. Savage; grandchildren, Adam Pratt, Lucas Pratt, Robert Gomer Jr., Jessica Lynne Nolan, and Owen Pratt; great-grandchildren, Madeline, Emma and Charlotte Pratt as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home in Frostburg, MD for a viewing on Monday, March 15, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral mass will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Mt. Savage on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 11:00 am with Father Doug Kenney officiating.

Interment will be at St. Patrick’s cemetery.

Pallbearers are Adam Pratt, Lucas Pratt, Robert Gomer Jr., Owen Pratt, Harold Watkins and George Watkins.

Following the graveside services a luncheon will be held at Mount Savage Fire Hall.
